Role Reflection

Weekly practice

Notice which kinds of contribution are active, strained, overused, or missing in a situation that matters.

Time

Use it when
Responsibility feels unclear, one person is carrying too much, or a project needs a different kind of attention.
Often supports
All four roles

The practice

  1. Name one current situation without trying to solve it.
  2. Ask what needs structure, what needs care, what needs practice, and what needs a beginning.
  3. Notice which role you are already carrying and where it is strained.
  4. Invite, share, or practice one missing contribution without assigning anyone a permanent identity.

Adapt it

Use the four questions alone, with a partner, or at the end of a meeting. One person can hold several roles; several people can share one.

Stop if

Role language is being used to rank, stereotype, excuse harm, or trap someone in a category. Return to concrete functions and present consent.
